Grand Cayman Shore Excursions Review
The grand mystique and shades of haze that cover the confines of these islands are only a testament to their wonder and beauty. The history of the Grand Caymans is one of simple origin, as most countries within the Caribbean were at the beginning of the 1600’s, they became a territorial possession of Great Britian, exclusively controlled by the English governing from the rule of Jamaica. Originally discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1503 many countries in Europe has fought for control over these small islands, majorly because of their significance as a rest point and reload zone for commercial and wartime shipping across the Atlantic. Upon Jamaica's independence in 1962, the Cayman Islands broke its administrative links with Jamaica and opted to become a direct dependency of the British Crown, with the chief official of the islands being the Administrator.
Today the Caymans are just as beautiful as the day they were discovered, crystal clear water, cool calm sea breezes, and the feel of a tropical paradise. It is no wonder that a swim with dolphin Grand Cayman facility was constructed here. The swim with the dolphin facility, which was just recently open, is located at the West Bay Road, across the street from the Turtle Farm, approximately 15 minutes from George Town. You can take a West Bay taxis from downtown or the cruise port, where the cruise ships dock, and the cost will be approximately $20 Grand Cayman dollars.
So what are some of the packages and activities we offer for the Cayman Islands? Well Im glad you asked, as of now we have two main packages, the Dolphin Royal Swim and the Dolphin swim adventure. Lets begin with the Dolphin Royal swim, picture if you can the most exciting moment of your life, now multiply that by two and you have our Dolphin Royal swim. Most notably the prize of our programs at the Cayman Islands, it includes the legendary and exhilarating foot push, where two dolphins that are submerged plummet downward and then erupt upward under your feet carrying you at unreal speeds across the clear waters and then letting you down gently after the 5 second drag race that had just occurred. For those of you that like the more conventional style swims, we also offer the dorsal tow, where two dolphins come next to you and you place each hand on a dorsal and they carry you across the water at still very impressive speeds. Within the Dolphin Royal swim you may experience both of these amazing styles, this program also boasts the longest amount of water time with the dolphins, approximately 45mins to the standard 30mins.

After the dolphin swim program, participants and their companions can decide to go out and explore the island from the turquoise Caribbean waters, which contain the famous incredible swimming with the ray experience. This experience is very famous and it began when the stingrays gathered in the area decades ago when fisherman used to clean fish on the shallow sand bars. The stingrays would forget their normally shy dispositions and feast on the guts of the cleaned fish. Soon the stingrays began to associate the sound of a boat motor with food. In the late 1980s, divers started feeding squid to the stingrays, which is one of their favorite dishes. Imagine a completely unique once in a lifetime experience you can find nowhere else in the world. As you enter our crystal clear turquoise waters the graceful southern stingrays glide tranquilly past in their natural habitat. Enjoy this unique experience of touching and feeding a Stingray, together with snorkeling amongst magnificent coral reefs and colorful tropical fish. The Stingray City Sandbar in Grand Cayman is a lot of fun and suitable for everyone. Standing in only three feet of water you will be surrounded by more than two dozen friendly Stingrays’.
