Departing from Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor on Oahu's beautiful North Shore, you may see Hawaiian green sea turtles, dolphins and humpback whales (depending on the season) during the 3 mile (5 km) cruise to your shark-filled destination.
Then the shark cage is floated on the surface of the water and you have the option to get inside for an underwater encounter you'll never forget. The water is cobalt blue and visibility is approximately 200 feet (60 meters) or more so you can actually see the sharks come up from the deep.
If you choose to enter the cage, you'll spend approximately 20-30 minutes in the water viewing these magnificent creatures up close. The cage holds two people very comfortably and can hold up to four people at a time, depending on the weather conditions.
If you do not wish to enter the shark cage, there will be ample surface viewing opportunities as the sharks circle the boat.
The sharks commonly sighted on the Oahu Shark Dive include the gray reef, Galapagos, sandbar and hammerhead, ranging in size from 5 feet to 15 feet (1.5 meters to 4.5 meters). These sharks will swim only inches away from the cage!
The safety of passengers is the number one priority and a safety briefing is given at the start of the tour. You may bring your own mask and snorkel although fins are not necessary.
