Ferry Transportation from St Thomas to Tortola BVI

  • From St Thomas, You have the Choice of Either the Rook Hook or Charlotte Amalie Ferries
  • Ferry departure at 8:00 am from Red Hook, St. Thomas USVI and return transfer at 4:00 p.m. from West End Terminal, Tortola BVI Ferry Dock.
  • Ferry departure at 8:30 a.m. from Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas USVI (Edward Blyden Marine Terminal) Ferry returns transfer at 2:30 p.m. from Road Town, Tortola BVI Ferry (Ferry Dock)
  • NOTE: The Charlotte Amalie Ferry schedule can change without notice.
  • The Email Voucher that is sent to you will say on it Charlotte Amalie but you can pick either ferry service on your own. Either service will honor the voucher.
  • The Ferry Ride is about 40 – 50 minutes to Tortola.
  • If you take the Charlotte Amalie Ferry, you will be closer to the Dolphin Facility. The Road Town Ferry terminal is about 5 – 10 minutes by Taxi to the Dolphin Facility, about a $10 Taxi Ride.
  • Once you book your Royal Swim, Dolphin Swim Adventure, or Dolphin Encounter to Tortola, you will get an email ticket and voucher. The Voucher will come in a 2nd email 4 – 8 hours after your ticket email.

Ferry Transportation from St John to Tortola BVI

  • Ferry departure at 8:30am or 11:30am from Cruz Bay Street, St. John USVI and return transfer at 3:30 pm (M-Th) or 5pm (Fri) or 4:30pm (Sun) from West End, Tortola BVI Ferry Dock.
  • The Ferry Ride is about 20 – 30 minutes to Tortola.
  • Once you book your Royal Swim, Dolphin Swim Adventure, or Dolphin Encounter to Tortola, you will get an email ticket and voucher. The Voucher will come in a 2nd email 4 – 8 hours after your ticket email.

What You Need to Know About Taking the Ferry

  • You will be required to take Taxi from West End Terminal to Dolphin Facility at your own expense, about a $15 – $20 fare for the whole taxi. This ride from the West End Terminal to the Dolphin Facility is about 20 – 30 minutes.
  • You will be sent a Ferry Voucher via email and you need to use this, either you can print or bring the PDF voucher on your smart device to show at the ferry terminal. If you don’t have the Ferry Voucher, please email or call the contact information on your electronic ticket.
  • Observers will need to pay for their own ride over to Tortola, Round Trip: $50
  • You will need to pay British Travel Tax, $15pp
  • Valid Passport Required
  • You will have down time on Tortola and you can have lunch or shop in Road Town, which is next to the dolphin facility. You can take a taxi tour of the island too.
